Dr. Barbara Galindo is a Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellow for the 2024-2026 academic year in the Department of Media and Cultural Studies at the University of California, Riverside (UCR). Her work develops a new critical framework for understanding socio-environmental issues in Latin America/Abya Yala by examining the intersections of ecology, indigeneity, race, class, gender, space/place and time, biopolitics, and human rights.

Dr. Galindo’s interdisciplinary training and experience working closely with Kichwa-Lamista Indigenous peoples and Andean female activists in Peru have significantly shaped her research interests and continue to inform her scholarship. Her most recent and forthcoming publications can be found in the Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies (JLACS), LACIS Review, and the Bulletin of Latin American Research (BLAR).
